Here's a quick overview of how a reverse osmosis system works:
The water pressure from your home pushes your water first through
a carbon filter. Then, during the second stage, the water moves through the reverse osmosis membrane. This
membrane filter separates the everyday household water at
the molecular level. The membrane catches contaminants in the water, removing them so that the water
becomes purer, reverse osmosis (RO) water, with substantially reduced dissolved solids and contaminants. This
cleaner, purer, refined water is then stored in a holding
tank, ready at your convenience.
